One Year Ago Today....

One Year ago today I bought the ring. I wasn't really expecting to buy it quite yet, I was more just looking at options. The one I bought Kaitlyn jumped out at me and I was like "I have to get it".

I drove up to Buffalo on Friday, the 4th and had stayed the night with Jon and Theresa at their apartment. I had told them about my intentions of looking for a ring before staying the night. They were both super excited to help me look. We drove over to the Walden Galleria Mall in the morning and started to go to all the different jewelery stores. The last store we happened to look at was Littman's Jewelers and this ring just jumped out at me. I bought it right then and there. Jon was going to be coming to Rochester the following weekend, so I arranged for him to pick it up for me. He dropped it off for me and then I proposed that evening on the 12th.

Wow, how fast a year goes! We got a little under 3 months to go to the wedding and I know that is going to fly by! Invitations will be going out in a few weeks, so keep a look out for them!

Our first day being engaged!

So for all of you who have asked how it happened...here's the story....

Yesterday (4/12) was our 1 and 1/2 year anniversary so Matt took me out to a REALLY nice Italian restaurant, Mario's Italian Steakhouse. While we were waiting for our food to arrive he asked me why I love him. I gave him a few reasons and then he pulled the ring box out and said "Well, will you me marry me then?" I started balling because I was completely surprised and told him of course I’d marry him! As we were driving back home we made a million phone calls to family and friends to let them know. Since then, we haven’t stopped calling, e-mailing and texting people to let everyone in on the good news. We'd like to set a date within a few weeks, but want to find our perfect reception hall and will base the date around their availability.
